Jose Prakash passes away

The veteran actor of Malayalam , Jose Prakash passed away at two in the afternoon, not waiting for the year’s J C Daniel award for which he was selected by the state government. He was on treatment for quite some time, ailing from diabetes and multiple disorders at the Sunrise hospital, Kakkand. He was 87.

The senior star was an active member of the industry for more than four decades, started his career in films as a singer. With the success of ‘Bhakthakuchela’ in 1953, he started to become a regular face on Malayalam movies. Jose Prakash, together with K P Ummer was the most sought after villain in the sixties and seventies. By the end of the last century, he has completed 350 movies, mostly donning the villain roles. Jose Prakash started concentrating on character roles by the nineties. He was last seen in a cameo in the hit movie ‘Traffic’, which was written by his grandsons, Bobby and Sanjay.
