Balyakalasakhi, the magnum opus work of the world renowned writer Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer is being adapted to celluloid. Written in the era of freedom struggle, Balyakalasakhi has been translated to 18 languages. Different from run-of-the mill love stories, the novel has done justice not only to the period but to the characters and to the entity of the medium of literature with its path breaking grammar and language.

Its a wonderful opportunity for all the aspirant talents who look forward to enter to the Malayalam film fraternity this time as the debut Director Mr Pramod Payyannur and Bharath Mammootty is inviting fresh faces to this venture. The protagonist , Majeed will be given life by Mammootty ,which will be another attraction of this movie. 10 from the colleges/schools,15 from theater/performing arts will be given priority for all other prominent characters.

Artists from kasaragod, Kannur, Calicut, Malappuram, will be having their audition at Calicut on Feb 20, 21,22 and Thrissur, Palakad, Ernakulam, Iduki will have their audition at ernakulam on Feb 25, 2,27 and for those coming from Aalapuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Trivandrum will have the audition at Thiruvanthupuram on March 3,4, 5respectively.

In each Zone the first day will be exclusively for the school /college students of age
group between 5-13, and the second day for the age group 18-20 and third day being for the performers from theater and performing arts .A total of 35 new faces will be introduced to the big screen and they will share the screen with the legend Bharath Mammootty uniqueness of this audition is that it gives a chance for NRI too, as an audition will be held at Dubai on 10,11,12 of March 2012.

A judging committee with Eminent dignitaries from the film fraternity will be selecting the artists required for Balyakalasakhi. The director and producer unanimously declared they are specifically looking for performers who have the typical physique and mannerisms of Basheer Characters.

Mammootty added that no external influences including financial ,will be a criteria for the selection procedure. A genuine approach to find the real talent will be the motive of this audition.

A camp under experienced and eminent personalties will fine tune the 35 selected artist before they face camera .Baalyakalasaki will be pictured in the summer at Kolkatta and the shower of Kerala promising a visual feast to audience with its technical perfections. The music will be revival of the past with the present generation as Sri Raghavan Master and Shehabas Aman is joining hands to take the audience to a different level musical retreat. Jan 21 being the 104 th Birthday of the Sultan of Beypore, this venture is a soul dedication to the Legend and Balyakalasaki will hit the box office this year end.
