Siddique, leading Character actor of the Malayalam film industry is foraying into Telugu with the internationally acclaimed multiple award winning director Rajesh Touchriver’s movie “Prathyayam”. The film is bilingual and is also being made in Malayalam simultaneously in the name “Ente”. The shooting of the film is progressing in remote locales in Andhra Pradesh and is expected to release on March 16, 2012.
As the main protagonist Siddiq will be seen in a unique role which he has never before portrayed. Revolving around a very powerful story of a father and a daughter, the cast include some very talented artistes from Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood.
The female lead in the film is portrayed by Anjali Patil, a National School of Drama (NSD) graduate, who recently did a power-packed role in the award winning film “A Day in Delhi”. Renowned actor Nina Kurup who is also debuting for the first time in a Telugu film is playing a key role in this film. The music of the film is done by Sharreth and Shantanu Moitra (of Parineeta fame).
Rajesh Touchriver is an acclaimed filmmaker. His debut film as a director “In the name of Buddha” has won many awards and critical acclaim at various international festivals. Rajesh also directed Ente Malayalam, a promotion for the Manorama Music channel to celebrate the 50th year of Kerala formation, capturing noted Malayali achievers against the lush landscape of Kerala in evocative frames. He has also made several short films and documentaries on human trafficking, HIV/AIDS and communal riots that support the media advocacy initiatives of the United Nations and NGOs, national and international.
