Megastar Mammootty like his competitors Mohanlal and Dileep is starting a production and distribution concern.
On Sunday (June 14) directors Siddique and Lal inaugurated Mammootty’s new concern Play House. At the inaugural function Mammootty said: “The name of the company itself means theatre. It would produce both stage dramas and commercial films.”
As of now Play House will distribute three films- Jayaram’s Akku Akbar directed Kana Kanmani, Lal Jose’s remake of Neelathamara with new faces and Shyamaprasad’s Rithu. Later in August Mammootty’s Christmas release will be produced by Play House.
Anto Joseph, Mammootty’s right hand man and leading producer and production controller will be Mammootty’s business partner in this venture. Anto will run Play House on a day to day basis and decide on the kind of films they will produce.
