Many will remember that Kavya Madhavan was a youth festival ‘Kalathilakam’, before she ventured into cinema. She had been a trained classical dancer who participated in numerous competitions and won prizes, during her days of schooling. Her dancing and other artistic abilities made her entry to the film field much easier, than many of her older counterparts.
Kavya Madhavan recently captured head lines for a Mappila song that she wrote. Actor Prithviraj who happened to notice the song, mentioned it to Babu Janardhanan and Bibin Prabhakar, the makers of his new film ‘One Way Ticket’. Both the director and scriptwriter who immediately got interested in the material used it as one of the songs in the movie. The song was later remixed by Rahul Raj to suit the musical situation in the movie. Kavya thus had an unexpected turnaround to become a lyric writer in Malayalam cinema.
The actress is now planning to bring up an entire album, with all the songs penned by her. One of the songs in the album will be set to music by Kavya.
Moreover, she also has plans to sing this song for this untitled album. The other songs will be set to music by young musicians Arun and Anoop. Established singers from the industry will croon the other songs of the album which will be out by the end of the year.
“I first wrote a poem when I was in my ninth standard. I used to write a lot during my school days. I expect to bring out this album, by the end of this year” says Kavya who is at present shooting for ‘Maadambi’-her first outing as heroine to Superstar Mohanlal.
